SSL Seminar “Is your company missing out on unprotected communications?”, an industry and academia collaboration, co-sponsored by The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), which manages and operates the geographical name top-level domain ".kyoto", and Kagoya Japan Co., Ltd. was held at KCGI Kyoto Ekimae Satellite on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

While Internet crimes such as eavesdropping, falsification, and spoofing are on the rise, important information regarding individuals and companies is frequently being sent and received over the Internet. Mr. Yosuke Yano of Kagoya Japan gave a lecture on SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)/TLS (Transport Layer Security), which are world standard security technologies, and covered topics such as “SSL/TLS functions'' and “Implementation and compatibility with each browser'' to ensure peace of mind, and explained the measures you can take to utilize the Internet in a safe mannger.

There were 19 participants on the day, ranging in age from 30s to 60s, and 3 of them were women. It seemed that some people were considering introducing SSL, and there were specific operational questions, and everyone listened intently.
